Introduction
At this time Boaz had obtained the right of purchase from the guardian-redeemer, and said to the elders and all the people that he would purchase Elimelek’s property. Not only that, Boaz has also acquired Ruth the Moabite, Mahlon’s widow, as his wife, in order to maintain the name of the dead with his property, so that his name will not disappear from among his family or from his hometown.
