2022-03-20 Preaching: Not leaving the guilty unpunished

 Not leaving the guilty unpunished

 Habakkuk 2:5-20; BCBC/IOUC; 3/20/2022; Rev. Paul Wang

 Introduction

When I planned this year’s sermons,  it never occurred to me that we would actually see war.  We may also be accustomed to the law of the jungle where the strong eat the weak, and we have been taught since childhood that we will be beaten when we fall behind.  After thinking about it, I never thought that Russia, which looks powerful, would invade Ukraine because of her ignorance, barbarism and evil. Perhaps the great Mr. Putin has forgotten the most important thing, that God is righteous!  God will not leave the guilty unpunished!  Let’s look at the first point: Continue reading “2022-03-20 Preaching: Not leaving the guilty unpunished”

What to do when encountering injustice?

 Habakkuk 1:12-17, 2:1-4; BCBC/IOUC; 3/13/2022; Rev. Paul Wang

 Introduction

When we encounter injustice in life, what should we do?  When you encounter bullies bullying women and children on the street, can you turn a blind eye and see death?  When Ukraine is invaded by Russia,   is it not okay to express condemnation?  As for the Xuzhou Iron Chain woman, can you express sympathy?  Even anger, sadness?  If you go on,   you will inevitably encounter the ultimate concern of life,  which is “God, where are you?”  Let’s look at the first point: Continue reading “2022-03-13 Preaching: What to do when encountering injustice?”

Cry out to God

  Habakkuk 1:1-11; BCBC/IOUC; 3/6/2022; Rev. Paul Wang

 Introduction

Life is impermanent, and nine times out of ten things are unsatisfactory.   If you encounter hardships, how can you deal with it?  What if the entire nation-state suffers?   On February 24th, Russia invaded Ukraine.  I saw a picture posted on the Internet showing Ukrainians kneeling on the snow and crying to God.  There is nothing new under the sun, history repeats itself, agree?  Let’s look at the first point: Continue reading “2022-03-06 Preaching: Cry out to God”

The final command

 1 Timothy 6:11-21; BCBC/IOUC; 2/27/2022; Rev. Paul Wang

 Introduction

Paul pointed out the confusion in the last days.  Some people will abandon the truth,  love the world, and do not really believe in God.   At this time, Paul was in the final stage of his life.  His focus was on cultivating Timothy to become the successor of the kingdom of heaven,  so he had today’s message:  The last command. Let’s look at the first point: Continue reading “2022-02-27 Preaching: The final command”

Double honor

1 Timothy 5:17-25; BCBC/IOUC; 2/13/2022; Rev. Paul Wang

  Introduction

Usually pastors don’t preach this kind of sermon very much. Why? Seems like he’s talking for himself, doesn’t he?  However, the less you talk about it, the fewer people will know about it,  and the more people will disrespect the Lord. May God guard our hearts,  interpret the Bible according to God’s will,  and speak the words of God. Let’s look at the first point: Continue reading “2022-02-13 Preaching: Double honor”

2022-01-30 Sermon: Life affects life

Life affects life

1 Timothy 4:6-16; BCBC/IOUC; 1/30/2022; Rev. Paul Wang

Introduction

Life affects life, an important biblical theme that has become an old-fashioned topic.   What we often see are lectures about how life affects life,  but there is little testimony and ability about life affects life. Right?  This is the origin of the topic of today’s sermon,  Let’s look at the first point: Continue reading “2022-01-30 Sermon: Life affects life”
